GUARDING HONOR by ScarredWolfphoto GUARDING HONOR by ScarredWolfphoto
I took this while I was at the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington Cemetery.

Note - I have removed the "facts" about the Tomb of the Unknown that i had found on the internet, because they are apparently wrong, even the ones from the official site, and all the other sites had exactly the same info.

Very well captured. I like the tight framing on the soldier's hands and rifle! I'd be interested to see the specs from the camera (settings, and such).

Nice photo I added it to my favourites.

Just out of curiousity, I'm not sure how gun savvy you are but is that soldier carrying a M1-Garand or a M-14?

Its an M1-Garand. Its basically the standard ceremony rifle.

Also, this is a US Army soldier, not a Marine.

That is an awesome picture. I was there several years ago and this image captures the 'feeling' of that place perfectly. The composition of the shot makes me think of how quiet that scene was. It also reminds me of the intense emotions felt during the ceremony. The colors are bright, the lines are crisp, and the crop of just the hands holding the gun makes the perfect statement. I don't think the shot would have the same impact if the face of the soldier was visible. Great work!!! :-)
